THE SHORT ANSWERBondi Beach has no railway station. From Sydney Airport, the usual public-transport route is train to Bondi Junction followed by a bus; a taxi or rideshare is simpler with luggage or a group.
That final transfer is the detail first-time visitors often miss. Bondi looks close to the airport on a map, but the easiest route changes with the terminal, time of day, number of suitcases and whether one fare is being compared with the shared cost of a car.
Think of the journey as a choice between efficiency and simplicity: public transport can be economical for a lightly packed traveller, while door-to-door transport often earns its cost after a long flight.
Easiest with luggage: taxi or rideshare
A taxi or rideshare is the simplest door-to-door option, particularly for two to four travellers sharing the cost, families with bags or guests arriving late.
Journey time varies sharply with traffic. Sydney Airport and Bondi are geographically close, but peak-hour congestion can make a short route slow. Use the provider's live estimate after landing rather than relying on a fixed time or fare published months earlier.
Public transport from the International Terminal
Take the airport train towards the city, change for the T4 Eastern Suburbs line to Bondi Junction, then transfer to a bus for Bondi Beach or North Bondi. Route 333 connects Bondi Junction with Bondi Beach and North Bondi.
Airport train fares include an airport station access fee. Contactless cards and devices can be used across the Opal network, but every passenger needs their own accepted payment method.
Public transport from the Domestic Terminal
You can use the train-and-bus route above. Transport for NSW also operates route 350 between Sydney Airport Domestic and Bondi Junction via the eastern suburbs. From Bondi Junction, change to a beach or North Bondi bus.
The 350 can avoid the city interchange but usually takes a longer surface route. It may suit a budget-conscious traveller with manageable luggage and time.
Hiring a car
A car is useful if Bondi is the start of a wider road trip, but it is not essential for a beach-and-city stay. Parking near Bondi Beach is limited and frequently metered or time-restricted.
If you do hire one, our apartment includes an undercover space suited to a small or medium car. Check before booking if your vehicle will be a large SUV, van or tall people mover.

- Solo traveller with light luggage: Public transport can be economical.
- Two to four guests with suitcases: Compare a live taxi/rideshare quote with combined public-transport fares.
- Late arrival or children: Door-to-door transport is usually the least complicated.
- Domestic passenger avoiding the airport train: Consider route 350 to Bondi Junction, then change buses.
