Waverley Council maintains permanent and timed off-leash areas. Two useful options near North Bondi are:
- Barracluff Park: Timed off-leash activity is permitted from 3pm to 10am daily, except during organised sport and community events. Dogs must be leashed at other times and kept away from excluded areas.
- Marks Park: Timed off-leash activity is permitted from 4.30pm to 8.30am, except during Sculpture by the Sea. Dogs must be leashed outside those times and kept out of bushland and playground exclusion zones.
Rules and signs at the park always take priority over an article. Check the council page before travelling and read the signs on arrival.
Coastal walking with a dog
Ben Buckler reserves permit dogs on leash, but intertidal areas remain prohibited. Carry water, waste bags and a short lead for busy paths. Coastal heat can build quickly on exposed pavement, so early morning and late afternoon walks are kinder in summer.
Do not assume the full Bondi-to-Coogee walk has one consistent dog rule. It crosses several parks, beaches and council areas with different restrictions.
Pet-friendly accommodation in North Bondi
Pets may be accepted at our apartment with prior approval. Guests must contact the host before booking or adding a pet to an existing reservation. Approval can depend on the animal and the stay; it is not automatic.
The apartment has lift access, which can help with older dogs, and Barracluff Park is in North Bondi. Dogs must not be left to create noise or damage, and all building and house rules continue to apply.
