THE SHORT ANSWERFlickerfest's 36th International Short Film Festival runs at Bondi Pavilion from Friday 22 January to Sunday 31 January 2027.
Flickerfest gives a Bondi summer holiday an intelligent evening counterpoint. After the beach, the focus moves to short-form cinema: Australian and international competitions, documentary, youth programs and curated showcases inside the restored Pavilion precinct.
The festival is Academy Award and BAFTA qualifying, and selected films later tour Australia. The complete 2027 program was not yet available at the research date, so this page should sell the setting and confirmed dates without inventing sessions or ticket availability.
Flickerfest 2027 at a glance

Why stay in Bondi for the festival?
Flickerfest sessions run across summer evenings, when transport away from the beach can be busy. Staying locally gives you a relaxed day–night rhythm: swim between the flags in the morning, explore North Bondi or the markets, return to the apartment, then walk to the Pavilion for your screening.
It also makes multi-session days more comfortable. You are not committed to spending every gap in a venue foyer or travelling repeatedly between Bondi and the city.
Planning tickets
Flickerfest's opening and closing events, Australian competition programs and popular comedy selections can sell strongly. Once the 2027 program is released, replace this paragraph with exact on-sale information and link directly to the official ticket page.
Do not copy the 2026 program into this article. The dates are confirmed, but individual 2027 films, session times and prices must come from the new festival program.
Getting to Bondi Pavilion
Bondi Pavilion sits on the beachfront at the centre of Bondi Beach. Route 333 links Circular Quay and Bondi Junction with the beach and North Bondi. Metered beach parking is limited in summer, particularly on warm evenings and weekends.
Where to stay near Bondi Pavilion
Our private North Bondi apartment has two bedrooms for up to four guests, lift access, balcony views and an undercover parking space for a small or medium car. Bondi Beach is approximately a 10-minute walk away, so you can reach screenings without organising a late-night drive or searching for beach parking.
